We use Autologic Diagnostic Equipment which providees us with dealer level diagnostic capabilities and also provides remapping for most models of BMW and MINI. Another valuable tool is our new ProCut Brake lathe. This provides a cost effective way to clean up old brake discs and remove any warp in the disc. Brake Disk Skimming
Brake discs over time have a very hard time, they are treated to extreme temperatures and conditions. Over a period of time discs become worn and can develop hotspots and runout which you the driver can feel as a vibration and or wheel wobble.
Simply replacing the discs with new ones will not necessarily completely stop the vibration as disc runout can still occur due to the drive flange having runnout, if a drive flange gets a runout of 0.002" the disc will have a runout of 0.004"+. Although 0.004" is only the thickness of a hair on your head, pedal and steering wheel movement will be felt inside the car.
AC Cars can skim discs on the vehicle so the disc will be perfectly matched to the drive flange - this will eliminate any vibration issues, and save the cost of replacement.
